    Japan Economic News reported on October 23 that the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge is the longest sea-crossing bridge in the world. Through the bridge, the Chinese government has promoted the concept of “Guangdong, Hong Kong, Macao and Dawan District”, which will integrate the mainland and Hong Kong, including Shenzhen, into an integrated economic circle. The Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge is a huge 55-kilometer project consisting of subsea tunnels, bridges and artificial islands. It connects Lantau Island, Macau and Zhuhai, where the Hong Kong International Airport is located. The total investment is considered to exceed RMB 100 billion. After the bridge is opened, the journey from Hong Kong to Zhuhai will be shortened from about 4 hours to 45 minutes. Hong Kong to Macau will take only 30 minutes.

 



    According to the report, the China government is promoting the concept of “Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao Dawan District” that deepens cooperation between Guangdong Province and Hong Kong and Macao. The “Guangzhou-Shenzhen-Hong Kong Express Rail Link” connecting Hong Kong and Guangzhou has been opened in September. The Chinese government hopes to connect the high-tech enterprises in Shenzhen, the center of the automobile industry, and the financial logistics center, Hong Kong. The opening of the bridge will have a huge impact on the development of Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macau's Dawan District and will be the engine for economic growth.

 

    NHK TV reported that after the opening of the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge, people are expecting more sightseeing and logistics. Kirin, a large beer manufacturer with a factory in Zhuhai, has launched “Macau Beer” and “Haizhu Beer” which is widely favored in Zhuhai by acquiring local brands. These two beer brands have already accounted for one-fourth of the production, becoming the main commodities, and are popular among casino leisure resorts in Macau and restaurants in Zhuhai.

 

    Kirin Japan expects that after the opening of the bridge, visitors and business people from Hong Kong will be able to travel to Macau and Zhuhai to increase beer consumption. "I hope that people all over the world can know our beer and we will continue to promote the charm of the brand," said Ogawa Tatsuichi, the head of the business unit of Zhulin Beer Company.
