BEIJING
(June 30) Minister of Finance, Lim Guan Eng said that the government is
confident that the Malaysia’s economy will recover this year. He called on
domestic and foreign investors to have confidence in the Malaysian economy and
said that under the leadership of the Pakatan Harapan, the economy in Malaysia
will return to normal in three years.
Lim
Guan Eng said that although some people think that the Malaysia’s economy is in
a downturn, Malaysia’s car sales in the first five months of this year have
increased by 13%. This shows that the economy in Malaysia is still doing well.
This year’s economic growth rate is also expected to achieve good performance.
“In
terms of vehicle sales, the growth of 6-7% is very good, and the increase of
13% of the data shows that Malaysia’s economy is still developing steadily.”
He
said that now is a good opportunity to invest in Malaysia.
"If
the Malaysia’s economy recovers completely and invests again, the price will
become more and more expensive, so now is a good opportunity to invest in
Malaysia."
Lim
Guan Eng said this afternoon at the Embassy of the People's Republic of China
in Malaysia and the China businessman and student exchange meeting in Malaysia.

At
the exchange meeting, he also called on the China people to have confidence in
the new government in Malaysia, because a clean government will certainly do
better than a corrupt government.
"You
asked if I have confident that we will do better, I would definitely say"
yes “because in any country, a clean government will definitely be better than
a corrupt government."
He
said that in the case of Penang, as long as it gives the Pakatan Harapan a
little of time, when the new government has spent a period of struggle,
Malaysia will definitely be able to become a tiger of the Asian’s economy.
He
said that even if the 60-year regime was overthrown, Pakatan Harapan faced six
challenges, including dealing with the issues of 1Malaysia Development Berhad
(1MDB).
Lim
Guan Eng said at a press conference after the exchange meeting that this is a
very meaningful exchange. In addition to allowing Malaysians to share their
experiences, they can also understand the dilemmas they face and the vision of
the new Malaysia they are looking forward to.
He
said that in this exchange meeting, he felt that the China people were full of
hope for the government, and he also expected that Pakatan Harapan could
complete the agenda by building a new Malaysia to enable the next generation to
live a better life. This is also the agenda and mission of Pakatan Harapan, and
will do its best to create a better tomorrow.
